Battery prices

Man, what happened when i wasn't looking? The battery was dead in my pickup a week ago. I put it on the charger overnight, and it started in the morning. Next day it was dead again. I pulled the battery, and put in the one for the winch on my car trailer, just to get in to town for a replacement. I thought I'd run by O'Reilley's and have them do the "free test". They told me it needed a charge to test. They called later and said battery needs replaced. I went back. The replacement was $119. something! Are you kidding me? I took my battery and went to the local "good" part house where I have an account (that's a good idea, if they'll give you one). The replacement was $135. With my account discount, it was 77.00, with a 5 year warranty. I'll install it tomorrow. The old one said 4/09 on it......over 4 years in Tucson, that's real good battery life here.

Re: Battery prices

Yea that's about right if you let them do it to you!!!
I would not
If you look around you will find the good prices on batteries.

Re: Battery prices

I seem to save a lot, just by having an account at the "good parts" store. I'll admit I didn't know if I could get one, but all I had to do was ask. They gave me a form to fill out, I told them I didn't want credit, I'd pay for everything as I bought it. I just wanted better pricing. Last time I bought oil, it was 2.57 a quart by the case. (I bought 3 cases). When I've called around trying to find a part, they always seem to have it. Others tell me they can order it from Phoenix or, more often, Los Angeles, and have it in 2 to 5 days.

Re: Battery prices

I'm going to need a battery for the Mustang one of these days, I always buy the High cranking amps, and the best longest warranty. Now you've got me curious as to price.

I get my batteries from WalMart, they seem to have pretty good pricing and if you have a problem, You take the battery along with receipt and they just tell you to go pick up a new one.. No testing, no arguing they just do it.

Re: Battery prices

The AC Delco just went out in my 01 6 months ago. Almost 12 years in North Idaho so I bought another one just like it. I was impressed!
