turn signals

You know i hate electrical.......what would you do? Drove the Monte Carlo SS for the first time in a month or more, and when I turned the right turn signal on, the light stayed on. OK. I was sure that meant a bulb was out. Got out and looked when I got to the office, and both the front and rear light stays on in the turn signal mode. Tried the left, all is normal. Is the flasher bad?

Re: turn signals

I had that happen to me a few years back. I'll thnk about it and hope I can remember. Does the 4 way flasher still work?

It almost sounds like that side of the Flasher cam broke and is holding the lights on. You'll have to take the steering wheel off to check that.

Someone else will chime in and hopefully have the resolve.

Re: turn signals

Although not quite the same I have a tilt column on my truck, its not wired correctly because the `64 harness was never wired for e-flashers, but when the flasher button is pushed in mine will do the same....maybe just stuck in or dirty when pulled out and sticking.

Re: turn signals

Rich, I'm sure it has flashers, but I've never used them...........I'll check the switch when I leave the office. Thanks.

Re: turn signals

Rich, that was the lead I needed. Turned on the flashers, and both dash lights flash. Got out, looked at the front, both lights flash. Looked at the back, both bulbs flash on the driver's side, only one on the passenger side. I'll replace that bulb in the morning.
Sure had me puzzled. Thanks, gang!

Re: turn signals

Good deal. No wire cutters needed!
