Re: What did you work on today?

Still working on the carb rebuild. The kit I bought was the wrong one, didnt know till I opened it up. Thankfully Autoslow did return my money, they couldnt find the right number on the carb for a kit. Took it to NAPA and didnt take them but a min to find the correct number and order the kit.
Never seen spider sac's inside a carb before not to mention the 1/8in of unknown powder built up inside the float bowl.. I do wonder if the motor had sit outside in the elements before being dropped under the hood.

I believe the white powder is dried up gas, carb sitting way too long without being drained.

Re: What did you work on today?

I finally got it all out and got it rebuilt. (Even had web sacs inside) Someone used lots of black silicone on the lower plate. It was partially gumming up the bottom butterflies. Dremel and a wire brush cleaned it up.

Re: What did you work on today?

I continued working on our Master Shower, installed the glass enclosure. Had to adjust the door a little, not real fun being I had to do it all my self. 3/8"s glass gets awkward by your self but its getting done though.

Re: What did you work on today?

Yesterday, I had to remove all the steel water lines on the cold side due to rust plugging up the faucets. Most of the lines broke off and some split when trying to take them apart. Who knows how long they have been there. This also allowed me to remove all the steel off shoots that no longer used. Jigsaw puzzle, running this way and that some were just capped off. Good news, cold water has great pressure. I also put in a new kitchen sink faucet. Now just have to solve the low pressure on the hot side... Probably the same issue, too many steel lines going no where and rust build up in them too.

How good is your Pressure Regulator (? as old as the house?) and how old is the water heater? A couple of things to think about
