Nice work Woog. How's the door, closing any better? Adjusting those is a bear.

Nope... not yet - I got it to where it was worse... then sorta as good or a tad bit better.

My brain has not processed exactly how that all works yet... it is a case of 'it is easy when you know how' and I do not yet know, how.

I will have to monkey with it again sometime... I may need another set of hands or something.

Actually I do know a body shop guy... I'm thinking I'll have to hire him to fix it up.

Re: What did you work on today?

There's been plenty going on but no reports here lately. A couple of folks were interested in the garden tractor engine swap I'm doing but I was still mowing up until about 3 weeks ago so I couldn't take it out of service. I will start a thread about that in the Garage/workshop/driveway forum.

Re: What did you work on today?

Well the 'ol '65 went bbrrr one time and then ' click click click' with the no cranky action.

Put the volt meter on it and it is reading 12.3 or so...

I have the battery charger on it, so I will see if it will crank or not and what the alternator reads, etc..

old trucks are fun.

:D

Funny, just put a new battery in my truck Monday, replacing the one I bought 8-1-13. I was told batteries now have a free replacement on (in this case) 24 months. After that, no proration. It's just a core.

The battery in my '69 Camaro died this spring. I took it back to NAPA and by shear luck it was 2 days from being 24 months.... they gave us a new battery.

As for what I worked on today... The Freakin' Pole Barn.

Re: What did you work on today?

Today I changed the oil & filter... and lubed the front end.

Changed out the inline fuel filter I have as well... which wound up being the biggest pain. It seems the parts stores around me do not have those on the shelf anymore, you have to ask for them. Then the parts people want all these details... and I'm like : a metal inline fuel filter for a 3/8" fuel line...

I wasn't aware these were rare or uncommon.

The parts people were bringing out these monster diesel looking EFI fuel filters... it was starting to get comical, so I left.

Went to another store and started again... and luckily a manager was there and told 'em where to check, they brought out a few boxes and I was like : yeah, THAT one.

Then of course it didn't want to go back on, it leaked, cuz the fuel line cracked where the old one came off, so cut a chunk out and hook it back up.

Old trucks are fun.

Happy wrenching/truckin' folks,
