Re: Old pictures of my cars

Nice stuff, Mark............wish I had pictures of my old stuff. My brother forwarded a picture of my 55 Pontiac (that he totalled in 1966 while I was gone to the Army) and the Best Man from my first wedding (in 1969) sent me a picture of the 1962 VW notchback I had in Germany in 1967. That's it for all the cars I've owned over the years.

Re: Old pictures of my cars

I thought these pictures were long gone, Bill. My dad found them cleaning out some stuff a week ago and I sure was glad.

Re: Old pictures of my cars

Here is my SS/RS 350 4 speed Camaro at the digs. Probably 82-83. My first time. After I staged I rolled ahead and red lighted. The V8 Vega kicked my a**. With the mono-leaf springs and open diff the right rear tire was trying to jump into the trunk. I broke a motor mount when I dumped the clutch and with the old Chevy shift linkage that bolted to the crossmember rather than the trans I missed 2nd gear too. Humilated. Went down that week and bought a Hurst shifter.

Re: Old pictures of my cars

Got you beat by one year, Mark. My first car was a 49 Plymouth. Paid $10.00 for it, and $15 to get it towed home. Probably should have told my parents it was coming, they weren't happy.

Re: Old pictures of my cars

Wow, Mark, that's like getting time capsule handed to you! Kudos to your Dad for finding them. Kool rides and experiences. Those old "sticky page" photo albums seemed like a great idea back then, but they sure suck now! I have been slowly removing pictures from pages of them to scan then putting them in better albums.

I posted here a couple weeks ago that I FINALLY put your oil pressure gauge to work---LOL!
