Re: Show off your home made tool thread

what sucks for me is i can cut it all and get it ready to be welded but because of my pacemaker i cant weld, but i hope that will change when i get my new pacemaker in a few months, the Dr. said that the new ones will allow me to use a wire feed welder, i still wont be able to ark weld but just being able to weld again will be great. so untill then could you move next door and make me up a set HAHA ?

Henry, my friend Al had the same problem, and, you're right he can now mig weld. If you need some help in the meantime, holler!

Re: Show off your home made tool thread

Nothing to fancy here, but when I bought my used ESAB welding machine in 2008 I made a support structure to mount my Lincoln 110 welder. The Lincoln is great for sheet metal, and having it piggy back on the ESAB allows for easy hook up of the shielding gas.

The lid of the ESAB hinges up, so I couldn't just set the Lincoln on top of the ESAB.

Re: Show off your home made tool thread

And then there's the support for the Bike Rack. We bought a Thule bike rack for the wife's Jeep Wrangler. Used it for a while and the tailgate closed different. Come to find out by reading on the web that other folks had actually bent their tailgates using these.

I made a slide in jack that fits into the hitch receiver. When hauling the bikes we slide the jack in and jack up against the spare tire just enough to take the strain off the rear tire.

That's good. Not too expensive, and you can't hardly tell it's on there. Looks good and serves a good function.
