I also have that book as well as the big block book. A LOT of info. I used a set of the 416 heads on a 67 K-10 I had with a 350. Didn't notice any power loss due to the smaller valves but didn't really gain anything either. Turns out the problem I was trying to solve was a busted ring, not the old heads.

Mark; I have heard that this little Trick will work for Air Leakage through bad Rings, all you need is a Compression Test Gauge and adapt it to the PCV valve grommet hole then turn the motor over just like you would when doing a usual compression test. There is a very very slight natural leakage through the rings but it is the Greater Air Leakage you are looking for anyway. Test it first on a known Good Running engine that has no problems to see what it does to the gauge then you have some Data/base line to work from. Any leakage through the rings will push the air to any opening so if you have a valve cover breather you'll have to block it off. I haven't had the opportunity to test this Theory but it sounds like it would work.

Re: Hello All

When I pulled the head there was oil pooled on top of the piston. I had hoped it was the heads so I swapped them out. Ended up selling it a short time later.

Re: Hello All

Just a little up grade from that beat uped white frt bumper too a much smoother one with some good looking surface rust. Not much has changed in two years on the truck, just still collecting much needed parts too at least make it right. Pic one is my newest replacement white bumper, pic 2 is right after a bath.

Re: Hello All

I found a Original set of pov caps that the looks didn't set right with me so I went to work on them and here is what I turned out.

Pic 1, when I bought them (un touched)
" 2, after I body worked them with final painting (but not what I settled for in the end)
" 3, how it would look on my Epoxy Primered rim/wheel ( rims/wheels will stay this look)
" 4, what they look like after My Distressing Treatment
" 5, what the final look will be on my Epoxy Primered rim/wheel

The Final steps.
I clear coated them with "Dupli-Color Acrylic Enamel Clearcoat Matte Finish which also gave them a slightly yellow'esh tint too them which I think that made all the difference in a Aged look.
