Question quality source for beaded window seals / cat whiskers?

Hi folks.

I recently had to regoop my driver side door glass and the reproduction glass window seal I put on many years ago was rusted out and just plain broke and came apart.

I bought it from a large vendor and it rusted badly, right away...

Now, I know the vendors mostly get their parts from the same small handful of sources... but thought I'd ask if maybe anyone has found a quality source, just in case.

My truck lives outside in the weather and gets driven all the time, so it will get rained on, lots.

Thanks.

-W

this part here :

(1964-66) Beaded Window Seals with Clips

also known as 'cat whiskers' because, well they really do look that way out of the vehicle.

The part that goes on both sides of the door glass to keep it from rattling.

Thumbs up Re: quality source for beaded window seals / cat whiskers?

First place I would go is rockauto and use the new
discount code in the vendor area they just posted.
I have a complete set of radiator upper and lower
Mounting brackets and rubbers they had a great deal
On that will be here from FEDEX on Wed.

Thanks for the tip.

I found some at steelerubber.com : which is hard to see because of the text description and the photo... but they seem to be of better quality than the last repops I had on there, but time will tell.

repops... are you talking slang... or the actual company named "Repops"?

I bought window felt for my ole '65 Orange Crate from a company named "Repops"... http://www.repops.com/..... They fit horrible. I called them, they said they would send replacements..... never happened. I called again, they apologized and said they would send replacements... never happened.

FWIW

repops is just a slang term I picked up on the old chevy truck forums for 'reproduction parts'.

Apparently the old parts guys used it. :D

I've never heard of that company but I will be sure to steer clear of them.
