Re: lmc truck

Just be careful and read the fine print, some stuff comes universal even though it is said to fit 67 to 72 like my universal wiper arms they sent was I pissed. And plastic door panels that were desribed as designed from the originals, I was looking for the vinyl wrapped ones not hard plastic look alikes they gave me so much static on returning them I just kept them and used them as the boarding under the vinyl and glued tonneau material to them and pushed the vinyl into the seams they turned out nice but more expensive. I am careful what I buy there now.

Re: lmc truck

Glad you had a great service and fitment, but on average that is not the case.

I will say this, their catalog is top notch, but my Vendor smashes their prices.

Re: lmc truck

I think LMC is great also with the exception of sheet metal. I don't know if they play soccer with it before shipping, or if thier frieght guys sled down a snowy hill before delivery, but it typically comes with dents, dings, and scratches that no one owns up to, and it's YOUR responsility to send it back. Just shop around before you order a hood, door, panel etc.

Re: lmc truck

I have also dealt with LMC Truck Parts, They were very snooty on a return I was making and there products were 2nd rate for a high price . I don't use them anymore. stroker

Re: lmc truck

there are only two companies that make repop sheet metal, a thousand that sell it, non of it fits well with out a lot of work, best senario is to find original...sheet metal or hard parts..

Re: lmc truck

Just to show an example of how one bad transaction can turn away a good paying customer I will submit the following in regards to LMC.

When I first bought my truck I bought a bunch of parts just before Christmas, circa 2008. I was a 60-66 "newbie" back then and didn't know of any other parts vendors.

When I got the parts the quality of everything looked good, but pretty much like I expected for repro stuff. The rear drop springs that I had paid $170 for had a "CPP" Classic Performance Products sticker on them. I looked them up on the internet, the springs were $100.00

A $70 mark-up by LMC? What the ?@#!!

I called them, informed them of the $70 mark-up and asked them what they could do to make it right? The gal snapped back "we don't do price matching!".

I sent the coil springs back to LMC and bought them from CPP.

Even though I had to eat the shipping charges I still recouped some of my losses.

Now I fully understand that this is my bad, I should have checked around. But there is no denying that LMC is price gouging on this item.

Once I was aware that there are a lot of other options for pieces parts I never buy from LMC now.

Classic Parts is my vendor of choice, they are courteous and helpful and they also have a nice website.
