Amp question

Does anyone know the difference between mono, stereo, and multi-channel amps? I want an amp to power 1 10" or 12" sub. Thanks dudes. Later.

Re: Amp question

A mono Amp is not stereo, It is what you want for most Subs.

A multi channel is used for more than one set of speakers. 1 channel is one set, 2 channel is 2 sets, etc.

I have hooked up two amps which are both two channel to run 4 sets of speakers.

Re: Amp question

Oh yeah, cool. That make sense. It sounds like a mono amp for one speaker is what I need. Thanks man.

Re: Amp question

You can also bridge a 2 channel amp to power 1 sub. The most important thing to do when you're building your system is to make sure the ohm rating on your amp and sub match. The ohm rating for the amp will be different if it is bridged so keep this in mind.
