Next time I’m down there I will take some pics. I was hoping someone else might have made the conversation and remembered if shaft had to be cut.
One member has given you one solution so far, stick around someone else might ring in with something else for you.
I am not for sure if the Rag joint is different from one another(power ver manual) so you just might need a whole different steering column altogether. There is a trick to Shorten the two shafts when wanting to Collapse the two lower shafts for getting the steering wheel away from you pushing it down towards the dash but in this case you just want to get the two shafts (out put shaft of pow strg box) & (lower shaft of manual column) to line up to one another if all that is needed to get a Manual column and a power strg gear box out put shaft to mate together.

I'll show you what my Old Manual strg column looks like installed and show you my Auto trans Column for you to view. My Truck is a 3 OTT Manual steering gear box that will be going to Power steering with a auto column (69) re engineered shift points for my 4L60 trans.

Pic's below are,
1,2 & 3 are 3OTT manual steering shafts in engine bay.
4 is my auto column.
5 (last pic) is lower shafts apart from one another, two small drilled out holes on each shaft is what needs to be drilled out to separate the two. Lower shafts are known as a "D" shaft.

Now I think I'm lost. All that I was saying was that You gave him (OP) an option and that if he sticks around long enough someone else might have some more answers for him, the OPer.
Don't tell me you are still lost? LOL
