Re: Tachometer I.D.?

Hmmm.......I remember vacuum gauges that sat on consoles in, uhm, Pontiac Grand Prixs? Like about 63/64. Did they do tachs there, too?

Re: Tachometer I.D.?

You are getting close there, look at these http://www.pontiacparadise.com/parts...tachs63-64.php, look at the one on the console. I almost want to say Mopar, I'm still looking.
Hey check this out , does this match up?

Re: Tachometer I.D.?

Wow thanks guys for the research! That Mopar one is relatively close but not a match.

Mine is the first one and the epay one is second.

Re: Tachometer I.D.?

Thanks for the heads up on this guys! Pxwolvie's Mopar suspicions were right on, just not quite the right tach. Big money for those things, but I bet they sit on them a long time. I don't do ebay much as there usually ain't no money to buy but I guess it never ocurred to me to look there to ID stuff. Man, if they can realistically get 5 to 900 bucks out of them that would dang near pay for the engine overhaul on my Jimmy!

Thanks again guys---DAC

Re: Tachometer I.D.?

Thou I came into this trivia question a little late, I had one in a 67 Dodge Dart 383 GTS ( car # 16 ), it was a factory install on the consol, they offered that tach for two years I believe. I owned the dart for 6 years from `71 to `78. Very fast on street tires and minor mods, best quarter mile was 12.90 @110,

Hey Rich thanks for the response, it's all good education if I ever get around to trying to sell it! The Dart must have been a riot to drive! If I remember right the Dart at that time was considerably lighter than the comparable cars from the other manufacturers too giving it a little edge.
