Re: wagon update.......

It lives! Today, after spending most of yesterday trying to finish, Mike and I spent 2 hours buttoning everything up. It lives! Mike drove it out of my shop under it's own power! With open headers! Needs exhaust, needs alignment and a couple of tires, but IT LIVES! Finally...............brought it home with no drive train..........taught Mike how to put one together (relatively) on the cheap side........his first hot rod! Dang! He's ecstatic! I'm kinda proud!

Re: wagon update.......

Yeah that's awesome Bill. Wish I could have been there. Letting Mike drive it shows the depth of your character....

Bringing a "hulk" back to life is almost a spiritual thing. When we, my wife and I, built our 1st real hot rod, our Model A Tudor, it took about 10 years. During that time I had numerous opportuntities to drive other folks Hot Rods, and turned them down. I wanted my, and my wife's, first old school hot rod, Dr. Frankenstein "It's Alive!" moment to be unique.

The wife and I took the Model A on it's first Hot Rod voyage, circa late 1980's.. and it was something we'll never forget.

This forum / site has some really cool members... let's all try to stay in touch here more often. I truly miss the ole gang.

Re: wagon update.......

John,
I agree. I'd really like to see the gang on here more often. I learn a lot from them.
