It was an enormous loss to us...
I know about floods too, Ron, we lost everything but our lives and Mom's 1970 GMC Jimmy in one in 1972. I still have the Jimmy. We found bits and pieces a couple miles downstream from where the house was. Enormous loss for both of us going through separate disasters!

Re: 1960 GMC Build

Man that truly sucks guys.

Can I inject a bit of humor?

Our first home was built up on a knoll and had an unfinished basement. No way this basement will ever be wet....

When we moved in my Dad gave us an old pool table he had in his garage and we put it in the basement.

Our Afghan hound Argos called the basement his home when we were at work.

I came home one day shortly after we moved there and an afternoon thunderstorm had flooded the basement. Seems the drain in the basement was plugged by chipmunks.

I look into the basement... Argos is standing on the pool table, with about 2 feet of water around the table.

Classic look on his face. You know that look: get me out of here, I thought you were smarter than this, just who is really in charge around here.

So sorry for your loss Doug.. I was very, very lucky as to my loss compared to your family's.. We had most of our belongings in storage, Wish all of it would have been there..

But rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming,
“Wow what a ride”
