1969 Covette

Here are some pics of my dad's '69 Corvette that we are redoing. He bought the car in '71 and it was his driver until '77 (notice the snow tires on the back). After that, the car sat around (mostly outside) until the early '90s. In 2004, I started working on it just to "get back on the road" for him. Four years later, and I finally painted and colorsanded/buffed it this past summer....(we ended up pulling the body last year). The plan is for it to be back on the road this spring.

Notice my '62 Bug buried in the background. That is one of my never-ending projects (body off, grafted in an oval rear window clip, stroker motor with dual 48 IDA Webers, etc.....). I'm really into air-cooled VWs in addition to Corvettes (I have a '77 'Vette and a handful of Bugs).

Nick

Wink Re: 1969 Covette

Looks like a ton of man hours in that body

Any body that's done some fiberglass repair will know how hard that type of work is. My hats off to you and your Dad on that project

I would love to see some of your VW collection

Re: 1969 Covette

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm glad the hardwork is done on the 'Vette. GeneralMotors, you are right......there was a lot of time spent on the body, especially blocksanding.

I'll get some pics of my 'Vette and the VWs posted. I'll also try to dig out some pics of parts that I powder coated.

Great to be here.

Nick

Re: 1969 Covette

Ragenrat,

Sorry for not posting sooner.

Attached is a pic of my '77 Vette and some of my Bugs. The purple one is a '74 Super Beetle, the green one is my brother's '71 Super, the yellow 'vert is a '75 Super, and the primered one is a '75 standard that I am converting to look like an older model.
