Mark Pieloch and the Lasting Legacy of the Chevy Corvette

Mark Pieloch has collected more than 30 Corvettes as part of the Pieloch Classic Car Collection. This classic of the American road was introduced as a
convertible in 1953 and featured a 150-horsepower inline six-cylinder engine paired with an automatic transmission. This represented a major leap forward
in terms of power for the Chevrolet lineup and allowed the new Corvette to accelerate from 0 to 60 in 11.5 seconds. In 1955, Chevrolet added a V-8 engine
as an option for the Corvette, improving its 0 to 60 time to just 8.5 seconds. The automaker limited production to 700 vehicles for 1955 due to a backlog
of unsold inventory from previous model years. Because of this limited release, the 1955 Chevrolet Corvette is a rare prize for car collectors. The 1958 Chevrolet Corvette introduced the characteristic lines and sleek exterior appearance
admired by devotees of this American classic.

The second generation of the Chevy Corvette was released in 1963. Known as the Stingray, this Corvette was significantly smaller than its predecessors. One
of the inspirations for the Corvette's new styling was a mako shark caught by one of the designers during a deep-sea fishing expedition. Later iterations
of the Corvette continued to exhibit the same fashion-forward design details and sleek lines, ensuring its place as one of the most popular and iconic cars
in the Chevrolet lineup. Mark Pieloch's collection of classic Corvettes includes a number
of special editions and unique vehicles that epitomize the formidable spirit of this classic American muscle car.
