tbi swap

i have a 4.3 v6 with a throttle body. seems to me that it needs more gas since ive put on new exhaust and rebuilt engine. can i get one from a v8 and install for more performance or are there ways to improve what i have?

I have been really reading up on converting a Carb. for TBI.

What I have found is they are very choking to the engine. Yes they can be used as performance by buying a larger TBI unit itself and or buying the Eelbrock intake for it. The Manifold has been discontinued by Edelbrock. Keep an eye on Craigslist and Ebay to find one. The Manifold is the same as the DZ series first Generation Z-28's 302. They also say you can do some porting to help open it up some. From what I've read there's a 400 (it's in the 425cfm range but doesn't come to mind right now) and a 700 tbi unit. I just bought a 1984 corvette crossover complete assembly off of Ebay. It has two units one on one side front and the other is on the other side rear. The units themselves are only one ejector in each of them which is different from the singles which have two in them. You can put a single tbi on a regular manifold if that's what you'd like to do.

The tbi conversion is either loved or hated there seems to be very little in-between. There is a lot of information on the Web. But it still left me with lots of questions.

“Wow what a ride”
