Re: Wheel choice advice please.

thanx for you help, old.

Here is my first choice for wheels.

In case you the link may not work:

Vision Wheel 141 Legend 5 Series Gunmetal Wheels 141H7883GM0 from summit.

if you scroll down, you will see this under questions:

I have 69 Chevy c10 with stock 6 lug wheels will vision 141 6 x 5.5 fit? Phil

Asked by PHIL on June 04, 2016

A:
I had to send them back because they wouldn't fit my 67 Chevy c10 6 lug with drum brakes. It was the center bore that was too small on the Wheel.

TIMOTHY from FL answered on July 20, 2016

So now I'm wondering if I will have issues.

Re: Wheel choice advice please.

My suggestion would be to message the manufacturer and ask them if this is an issue. Maybe they have resolved the problem or have a solution or... maybe there was no problem and they can tell you why. Just saying. The rally wheels I referred to earlier were vintage later 70s BTW. They originally were 4X4 wheels.

Thanx for your help, old. I called the tech line at summitt, they were no help. Good idea to call the actual manufacturer.

Re: Wheel choice advice please.

I had the same problem on my 71 k-10. I wanted to try and stay with my original wheels because I still had all of the original hub caps. They were 15 inch and everywhere I went I was told that if I wanted to have and 8 or 10 ply tire on my truck then I needed to go to a larger size rim. I hated to see the old hub caps die but had no choice. I am constantly in the mountains and 4 ply tires don't hold up. after doing a lot of research I found some 16 inch White spoke wheels that fit perfectly. Actually ordered them from State Trailer supply. They look great and I have had no issues with them. I am not a fan of alloy wheels. I have had flats in the mountains and by the time I got stopped the rims were ruined. Steel won't do that. It is hard to find steel wheels that look good. Most manufacturer's are only making alloy wheels now. Good luck

Is that 4 wheel drum? Would they be the same as my 67 drums?

If so, what wheel is it, as in who makes it, and where could I get it?

Yes the truck was 4 wheel drums... not sure if they are the same as the '67.

Rears were 15x8 US Indy's
Front were 15x7 Western's

Everybody and their brother made them back in the day

I got the rears from these guys... http://akhwheels.com/
