Re: another hunt for stents

Dang, Bill!! I haven't been on here forever and the first thing I read is this. It's your attitude, or your perspective that just blows me away. Makes it hard for me to feel bad for myself on the...

Re: New guy with a '55 2nd design GMC

I have to say Montana is good about registering vintage plates. It's cool to see an old rig with the correct vintage license plates. Hope it works out eventually.

Re: C10 toy trucks

Love this stuff! I have a huge list on Amazon and some die-cast sites of all the ones I need. Scales from 1/64 up to 1/18. Someday!

Re: Vehicle names?

I agonized over the right name for a year or so. I could tell she was feeling like an outcast, not part of the family and that only added to the pressure. I named her...I named it "Lloyd".

Re: Steering Wheel Assembly

Ahh! Never thought of that. All I've done so far is call it a "thrust washer" and try to describe it. I'll take my manual with me and see what they say.

Re: GMCDAC's 1972 GMC C2500

That's a decent bit of snow for May! Great pics showing the process. Is the cable in the photo (red circle) for temperature?

Re: '72 Chevy grille screws

Thanks, guys. I've looked at photos on line, but can't see enough to tell. I think I'll just gather up all my screws and bolts and have a little "me time". Process of elimination just might work!

Does anyone have a photo of these two screws? They are the center grille mount screws, circled in red. Thanks!!

Re: Steering Wheel Assembly

I believe these two pieces are my problem. They are #39 and #40 in the diagram. Anyone know where I could find these?

Re: 1960 GMC Build

That was a lot of fun reading those last few posts. I like how this atmosphere is sort of like guys just hanging out in the shop or just having coffee visiting and reminiscing.

Re: '78 Monte Carlo

HA HA!! That's funny. He put a K&N air system on as well. The plan is to replace all the molding, get some nice wheels, and replace the vinyl top. It's a good project for him.

Re: Steering Wheel Assembly

Well, that might help, Bill. The diagram shows a washer would go on first (#9), but I can't tell if that washer is already on. That must sound lame, but maybe the photos will help explain my...

Re: '78 Monte Carlo

Cool! I didn't know these came with T-tops. The engine is a 4.4 L V-8, which I'd never heard of. Were those good engines? The dual glass packs sound amazing on this car. I'm pretty happy for him.

Re: '72 K10 inner fender installation

Thanks again, Doug. I have the inner fenders installed and all the bolts were 1/2 and I think there were 8 per side. These 4 are longer than the 1/2 inch ones.

I think the two with the washer...

Re: '72 K10 inner fender installation

Barn Owl, if you remember, did you have everything loosened up before you jacked it up? There is some play on the two bolts at the rear of the fender, under the windshield. I wondered if those two...

Re: '72 K10 inner fender installation

All the hardware in the photos are accounted for. But, does anyone know if these two bolts with the big washers go in the rear of the inner fender to cab hole?

I also have these 4 smaller bolts...
