You remember Jocko from the darkside....? He sold his truck to supposedly a good home last night, posted it on the site, kinda of shocked everyone, it turned up on e-bay today....12,500 and going.....

Rich posted this in his build thread. I didn't want to put the Ebay link in his thread, since the link will go away after the auction. But if ya have a 60-66, or anybody with classic old trucks, ya might want to check this Ebay auction out.

I can't believe a used car salesman lied to him when buying it.... LOL

Did Jocko sell it on ebay to this guy?

Yes he did, the guy attempted to back out of the deal but it appears the folks at Ebay got him to not welch on the deal.

Sounds like Jocko did ok though, he got $15,200 for it, which it's worth IMO. I'm looking forward to seeing what "Mr. Flip My Truck" eventually gets.

Here's a photo Jocko took of the guy driving away...

I think he started to back out of it thinking he was pushing the envolope on the price...

Wonder if it being on the sites so much and knowing what he paid has anything to do with it....?

Let's hope so. By the way, he re-listed the auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevrolet-C-10-2-DOOR-1966-C10-FLEETSIDE-INCREDIBLE-RESTORED-ORIGINAL-S-MATCH-283c-i-5-Speed-/321008795869?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item4abd9d80dd

Pretty much. Jocko, the guy that built the truck, is a good guy. The fella that bought his truck mislead him and then tried to back out of a deal. Ebay made the buyer follow through with his committment and then the buyer tries to "flip the truck".

It's a karma thing Royo. Sure there is nothing wrong with capitalism, making a buck by buyin' and sellin'. But being an honest fella, a man of your word, should be worth somethin'....

Well, whatever the case, this one is a beaut. The color and originality are worth more than money to me. I didn't realize eBay got involved and seen a deal through like that.

Ebay can and often does step in. Case in Point:

I bought a '57 Chevy floating grill bar off one of their "Power Sellers". When I got the part is was busted.

I called the seller and told him. He said to send the part back to him and he had UPS stop by and pick up the part. He said he would mail back my money order the day after I called him.

2 weeks later he had the part, I still didn't have the money order. I mentioned this in his Ebay feedback.

He called me back and said he wasn't going to send the money order back because I posted negative feedback. I recorded the message, called Ebay and played it back to them. They (Ebay) refunded my lost funds. When they have a power seller they make so much money off the guy they felt it worth their while to refund my money out of their own pocket.

The whole thing "smelled bad" to me, the guys a shyster. But he got his busted part back, and I got my money back.

What I learned.... never send the part back until you get the money order back. Guess I just took the guy at his word, which it turned out wasn't worth squat.

What's the deal about "Jocko's truck"? What was the e-bay flap? What's this guy trying to do?

He bought it under false pretences then tried to back out of the deal...

He`s still got it after 32 bids on a second listing, he`s only at 15,100 as of today. :giggle::giggle:
